After
the delivery
| |
¡Ü You should have a
sound sleep as well as nutritious meals. : Failure
to relieve tiredness coming from the delivery
induces serious and trifle troubles. Therefore,
for a week after the delivery, you should have
enough rest and sound sleep. However, many women
complain about insomnia due to depression after
the delivery or severe tiredness during this time.
Therefore, you may drink warm milk before going
to bed or lie down to take rest if you feel tired
irrespective of what time it is. At this time,
calcium in the milk assists sleeping by relaxing
your nerves. Since it is also important to have
nutritious meals for the recovery of the body
and lactation, balanced meals should be taken
so that no nutrients are insufficient. Soft, easily
digestible, and highly nutritious meals should
be taken since hard foods may weaken your teeth.

¡Ü You should be careful
to have balanced meals and iron. : Most of the
time, only the brown-seaweed soup and rice are
taken for the meals after delivery. Although rice
is helpful for the contraction of the uterus and
brown-seaweed soup makes the blood clear and are
proper for the meals after the delivery, having
only these two may lead to nutrition deficiency.
Therefore, evenly nutritious and balanced meals
should be taken. Particularly, foods having enough
calcium and iron such as anchovies, milk and cheese
should be taken since bones and teeth are weakened
and hair is thinned out greatly after a baby is
born. And you should have meals containing a sufficient
amount of good-quality proteins and moisture in
order to facilitate lactation. The nutrients or
calories that are necessary are increased during
the time of lactation as during the time of pregnancy.
But an excessive diet for fast recovery after
the delivery should be prohibited. The principle
is to control the amount of meals and to take
balanced nutrients. |
