¡Ü
This is the time when hyperemesis is gone and
you have a good appetite. Sometimes, you have
to eat continuously as you are still hungry
although you have eaten enough. However, you
have to be careful about weight control steadily
since being fat leads to difficulties in delivery
and there is a danger of gestosis toward the
end of pregnancy. Care should be taken not to
have your weight increased by more than 2 kg
per month. Avoid sweet and greasy foods but
take mainly low-calorie and high-protein foods.
¡Ü Take a blood-forming nourishing agent if
you have anemia. : Various nutrients should
be supplied sufficiently so that the fetus may
grow smoothly since it grows rapidly from the
middle stage of pregnancy. Particularly, the
fetus requires a large amount of iron and absorbs
necessary iron from the mother although the
mother does not absorb iron. Therefore, you
should take the foods having sufficient iron
such as the liver, egg yolk, milk, green and
yellow vegetables carefully. And you should
take the iron preparation as instructed by the
doctor if the symptoms for anemia are shown.
¡Ü The rate of absorption of calcium is increased
if only it is taken along with protein foods.
: Calcium has a very low rate of absorption
of about 20%, which may be increased if it is
taken along with the foods having sufficient
animal proteins such as beef, pork, etc. Therefore,
it is necessary to be careful to have balanced
meals concentrating on animal proteins at ordinary
times. And processed or instant foods should
be avoided as much as possible since the rate
of absorption of calcium is lowered if Vitamin
D is not taken sufficiently. A menu with five
balanced nutrients should be prepared.
